In order to encourage studying overseas, the Ministry of Education (MoE) in Taiwan has recently announced the following scholarship schemes for qualified students and individuals, focusing on higher education degrees.

  • MoE funded study abroad scholarship 2014: for students wishing to receive HE degrees overseas. A qualified student is entitled to US$ 16K for a year, for the maximum of two years. Apply online or by post from 17 January to 21 February 2014.

  • The 2014 MoE Technological Incubation Scholarship: for individuals wishing to study PhD degrees in eight assigned high-tech subject areas.Apply online between 14 to 28 April 2014 and mail application documents by 30 April. A qualified candidate is entitled to US$ 42K for a year, for the maximum of three years.

  • MoE and six top universities co-funded scholarship 2014: for individuals with degrees (in Taiwan or other countries) recognised by MoE to study PhD in one of the following universities: University of Cambridge, California Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, Washington University in St. Louis, The Australian National University, University Paris-Sud. The criteria of assessment and funding are subject to the respective university.
