Amongst college graduates, civil service jobs are highly sought after due to the perceived higher social status and fixed working hours.  A recent report shows that government jobs offer a greater level of satisfaction; however graduates who joined the civil service in 2011 were less satisfied than those who had joined in 2008.  The research also found that 25 per cent of these new recruits had a “poor employment” situation, meaning their job was unrelated to their university degree and counted amongst the lowest paid in their region. Reports China Daily.
