China recently launched a national evaluation of China-foreign joint programmes in vocational education, demonstrating that China is stepping up efforts to internationalise the vocational education sector and improve quality controls.

Details of the evaluation are yet to be announced, but the Ministry of Education and the China Education Association for International Exchange will launch pilot evaluations in selected provinces next year.

So far, 861 China-foreign joint programmes in vocational education have been approved by provincial education authorities.
