The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) is linking with the Philippine government and private businesses to implement the dual Vocational Education Training (VET) system patterned after the German model.
In a press briefing, GPCCI General Manager Nadine Fund announced that the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) officially gave mandate to GPCCI to bring the dual system to the Philippines after it recognized there is need to level off job and skills mismatch in the country. Philippines was selected from among four countries which included Thailand, Mexico and Peru initially shortlisted to benefit from the program. Reports GMA News
