Since restarting our English exams in Europe in late May, the British Council has delivered more than 60,000 tests in over 2,000 individual test sessions, including over 25,000 IELTS tests.

We are open now for regular IELTS and SELT IELTS testing in 30 countries across the region. Most of our countries are offering weekly sessions and we are expanding capacity to meet all customer demand.

To satisfy different preferences we offer both paper- and computer-based IELTS sittings.

To help our test-takers achieve the results they need we have been offering a range of new resources such as free online 'Understanding IELTS’ webinars and Ask the Expert sessions on social media, each of which have reached several thousand test-takers across Europe. These are in addition to our regular online preparation and face-to-face support.

The safety of our test-takers, examiners and other staff remains our priority. As in all our work, we are adapting our services to comply with local measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, while at the same time delivering secure, reputable, dependable exams that enable universities to assess students' language level and provide international opportunities for learners.

If you would like to ask specific questions about the status of examinations in IES countries, please contact the IES country representative; you can find their details on the profile of that country.
