The Digital Advertising Association of Thailand has recently announced that spending on digital advertising media in Thailand is expected to grow by 22% in 2016 and is now the second most popular media behind TV media.

It is also expected that digital advertising media will expand further, in line with the increasing number of mobile phone and internet users. Among digital advertising media, Facebook is gaining the largest market share (29%) followed by Youtube.

The top three business types spending the most on digital marketing between 2012 and 2016 are motor vehicle manufacturers, skin care producers, and communication providers. Nearly 50% of advertisers aim to increase awareness of their products and reach a wider audience. Digital advertising and marketing are growing areas in Thailand. This is resulting in increasing demands for graduates in areas such as e-commerce and digital marketing. Furthermore, UK institutions may consider placing advertisement on digital media to reach a wider target audience in Thailand. On the other hand, because the majority of businesses are now using digital media in their advertising plans, each business has to work harder to ensure their advertising stands out and can catches the attention of the audience. This is why content marketing is becoming popular in Thailand, and in addition, traditional media such as print is seeing a decreasing demand.
