Indian higher education institutions are seeking temporary professional help to fill up to 25% sanctioned vacant posts. This is due to shortage of teachers faced by local institutions and universities in India.

These professionals need not even meet the educational qualification criteria as prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the post of professor. The special skills ,industry knowledge and working experience of faculty from industry, PSU’s , research organisations , NRIs and PlOs academics working with overseas academic will qualify to become adjunct faculty in universities and colleges, say recent guidelines issued by the UGC for empanelment of adjunct faculty.
