Various market factors, such as, competitive wages, growing domestic market demand and favourable policies on duties, have made Bangladesh an attractive destination for high tech manufacturing.

Manufacturing companies, like Walton and Samsung, have entered the Bangladesh market tech manufacturing. The Bangladesh government has played a favourable role in terms of lowering import duties on raw materials, exemption on value added tax, cash incentives, and tax discounts on technological investments.

Bangladesh’s 80 million under 25 years of age are giving a major boost to the country’s economy. The government of Bangladesh has developed several economic zones targeting foreign companies.

According to HESA statistics a total of 330 students from Bangladesh have been enrolled in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering courses in the UK from 2015 to 2017.

There continues to be interest amongst Bangladeshi students for Computer Science and Software Engineering related courses. UK HEIs are encouraged to consider target marketing for relevant courses to Bangladeshi students.
