Coventry University has signed an agreement with the Egyptian education institution "El Sewedy Education" to partnership on its new flagship project “The Knowledge Hub”
The Knowledge Hub and Coventry University will work together to prepare students for a future global career in a stimulating, enriching and innovative environment. The first collaboration of its kind for Coventry University, this unique project will bridge the gap between business, academia and society whilst encouraging a culture of innovation.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, attended the signing of the partnership agreement on Wednesday 12 December 2018, between El Sewedy Education and Coventry University for the opening a branch of Coventry University within “The Knowledge Hub | International University Institution of Egypt” located in the New Administrative Capital.
The Ministry of Higher Education supports private entities to enhance higher education in Egypt under the new International Branch Campus (IBC) Law. The signing builds on strong existing links between the UK and Egyptian higher education sectors, which already see over 18,000 students in Egypt studying on UK university programmes.
The partnership agreement marks a new kind of academic collaboration in Egypt in line with its learning strategy, with top universities around the world working with private entities to provide students with excellent teaching, and a quality international education.
Working closely together, Coventry will be offering a range of degrees which will be awarded by Coventry University at the Knowledge Hub. Subject areas under development include Engineering, Computing and Media.
Coventry university will be the first UK university to sign an agreement with an Egyptian partner to run a TNE programme in Egypt.
