The World Education Forum was held in Songdo, Korea for 19-21 May, about 1,500 education authorities and experts from the world gathered to set out a vision for global education over the next 15 years.

President Park put importance on education citing that Korea's economic development is from education. She also said Korea as advanced country in information and communications technology (ICT), will make a great contribution to global education by applying ICT so that people can have easier access to learning.

Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI), a leading state funded institution in education policy research and planning, addressed that importance of qualitative improvement including skills and creativity. Baek Sun-geun, president of KEDI said "As the post-2015 education agenda shifts from quantitative development to qualitative improvement, creativity and skills are crucial factors for this transition, and policy innovation that helps to achieve these key objectives is most important,"
