- Ministry unveils criteria for assessment next year
Higher education institutes in Korea will be evaluated by a newly introduced criteria from next year. The new assessment focuses more about quality of education including long-term plans, curricular, student support services- counselling, employment rate of graduates etc.-, facilities, staff, fiscal soundness and contributions to society.
The evaluation will be used for reforming of universities and colleges in Korea. The government plans to cut a total of 160,000 entrance quota by 2022.
The evaluation criteria will be finalized by early November and colleges will kick off the self-evaluation by mid-November. The official assessment will take place next year.
