The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) is setting up a “Technopreneurship” track, merging Science and Technology with Entrepreneurship, for the Engineering curriculum. This would lay the foundation and boost interest in business among a wider scope of students other than the graduates of business-related courses.

CHEd hopes that through this collaboration, they will be able to instill in their young people and college students the entrepreneurial know-how and spirit, to turn their skills and knowledge into science and technology products, businesses and ventures that will boost the country’s national competitiveness and create jobs for their people. The initiative was in response to their identification of one of the barriers to the Philippines’ achievement of accelerated and inclusive growth; the poor human capacity of its people.
