On its online Supervisory Information Platform for Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools, China’s Ministry of Education has recently made a public notification on the operational information of 615 joint-venture education organisations and programmes of secondary vocational education level in 25 regions in the country.

The public announcement of such information aims to promote public supervision, strengthen the information monitoring and management and protect the students’ interests. It is also designed to split the powers of administration, operation and evaluation of the Sino-foreign joint venture education programmes by establishing a managerial system which involves self-disciplined administrators and supervisions from both the public and the authorities in order to facilitate a continued and healthy development of joint venture education programmes.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education also publicised a supervisory hotline (010-66416080 extension 8067,8046,8038) to identify and handle issues reported from the public.
