Last Tuesday (12/Jul), two thousand new scholarships for the Programme of “Sandwich” PhD Abroad (PDSE) were launched by the Brazilian government. The initiative allows students who are currently enrolled in PhD in Brazil to attain part of their courses in higher education institutions abroad.
To be eligible for the scholarship the students must prove a certain level of qualification in order to get the most of the opportunity and be able to deepen the theoretical knowledge and partially develop the experimental stage of their thesis to be presented in Brazil. More than 2180 courses listed in all areas of knowledge are included in the programme.
The selected students are entitled to full tuition scholarship, health insurance, transportation and accommodation assistance and additional stipend, when applicable. Students can stay abroad for 4 up to 12 months.
