Australian Minister for Education Christopher Pyne said during an interview at the Australian Embassy in Beijing that many Australian universities plan to continue acknowledge Chinese college entrance exam scores for the enrollment of Chinese students. They even have a positive view on China’s proposed Gaokao reform. The practice is helping Australian universities to attract more and more high quality Chinese students to further their education in Australia.
Currently there are 124,000 Chinese students in Australia. The Australian Government will implement its 5 year New Colombo Plan from 2015, with A$100 million investment, to encourage Australian university graduates to study for 1-2 terms in Asian countries.
