With an objective to make technical students more employable, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi wants to introduce updated syllabus across all colleges offering technical courses in India.
According to Dr MP Poonia, vice chairman AICTE, as part of revamping the syllabus, new subjects will be introduced to ensure consistency in the curriculum across the country. The new syllabus will be industry linked, with internship opportunities so that the students have better job skills. The AICTE is also planning to have link ups with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises so students can get better professional exposure.
AICTE have taken an excellent step with this initiative which will have tie ups with industry so students can acquire job related skills. SIEM India has contacts with well-known local technical institutions and we have created platforms such as webinars. We can also setup face to face interaction for academics from UK institutions who are visiting India.
