Cooperation needs

University of Sanya would like to work with a UK university or college for a joint institute (without legal person status) or a joint university (with legal person status) focusing on Fin-tech, Auto, Health Management and Business.

Benefits for the UK partners

This provides an opportunity for the UK partners to:

• establish long-term partnership with GUC, with potential for expansion into other fields such as research, articulation, student exchange, faculty exchange, teacher training, etc.
• attract more domestic and international students
• enhance recognition and reputation in China
• establish alumni association and social network in China
• benefit from local industrial and economic outcomes with locally-based companies

Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties

The UK partner will be expected to work with S University of Sanya to:

• develop the curricula for the joint programmes together with University of Sanya
• provide qualified teaching staff for the joint programmes
• award bachelor’s degree to students

University of Sanya will be responsible for:

• promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
• providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and facilities for the joint programmes
• award bachelor’s degree to students

About Chinese University

University of Sanya is a full-time private undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education, founded in Sanya in 2004 by Geely Talent Development Group, the education arm of Geely Holdings Group (a Fortune 500 company). It is built on a 3,000-acre land, with more than 25,000 students. As one of the leading private universities in China, it is also one of the top 50 universities in sector of innovation, entrepreneurship and employment. The university builds strong industrial partnerships with leading companies from various industries, such as Geely Holdings, Microsoft, Denmark's Saxo Bank, China Mobile and Jingdong Logistics. And University of Sanya also announced its partnership with SEGi University from Malaysia to set up China Malaysia Future Institute (CMFI) in 2022. The Institute will provide a wide range of academic English courses, bridge courses, Essential-qualities-oriented education and etc.

Timeline

University of Sanya plans to start discussion with potential partners as soon as possible. The university is flexible in terms of timeline and open for UK partners’ enquiries.
