UK Open Day in Indian Schools

The British Council is inviting UK higher education providers to join a tour of schools in the cities of Mumbai and Pune, as part of its UK Open Day for Indian Schools initiative.

Commencing the week beginning 7 August 2023, the tour will give UK higher education providers the chance to interact with potential students who are interested in studying overseas, and to talk to school counsellors/teachers about UK courses and student support facilities.

Why join the tour?

UK higher education providers will get the chance to:

 - visit a strong student mobility belt in West India

 - interact with school counsellors, conduct workshops with counsellors and students, meet and engage students, and gain an understanding of the Indian undergraduate market

 - build networks and relationships with some of India’s top schools, and their counsellors and leaders

 - promote the UK as a whole and position the UK’s world class universities to school counsellors and students

 - develop and deliver workshops and sessions for counsellors and students to engage with the students who aspire to visit the UK.

Key details

The one-week tour will visit two cities. It will include schools where students typically choose to go abroad for higher education studies and have a good career counselling culture, as well as emerging mobility-source schools.

While there is no hard selling of individual UK institutions and courses, UK providers will get a chance to talk about their institution and create awareness about their brand to key influencers and students during the tour.

UK providers are encouraged to involve any alumni based in these cities to join the sessions and talk about their UK experiences.
