UK and Azerbaijan Universities Networking Event 2015

British Council Azerbaijan is pleased to invite UK Universities to attend 'UK and Azerbaijan Universities Networking Event 2015' on 9 November in the Hilton Hotel, Baku, Azerbaijan.

The UK Universities participating in the UK Education Fair on November 7-8, 2015 are encouraged to spend one more day in Azerbaijan and join the Networking Event the day after the exhibition.

Aim of the event:

The aim of the event is to bring UK and Azerbaijan university representatives together to have face-to-face discussions, to learn about common interdisciplinary interests and exchange contact details for further partnership opportunities.

Scope of Partnership:

The event is open to all UK and Azerbaijan Universities interested in joint networking and partnership opportunities.

What are the benefits for UK Universities?

The Networking Event brings UK partners the following benefits:

 Networking opportunity with the representatives of Azerbaijan Universities for further partnerships in terms of student exchange and dual-degree programs, teacher training, curriculum development and etc.
 Future partnerships providing sustainable promotion of UK Universities among the students of Azerbaijan

Participants will receive participation fee of 140 GBP per person (limited to one representative from each UK university) towards their accommodation and subsistence for one day stay (9 November).

How we did it last year?

Last year 40 UK higher education institutions participated in the third Education UK Fair on 1-2 November 2014. 20 of these joined the Networking Event with the participation of their Azerbaijani counterparts.

Azerbaijan Universities were represented by 61 university officials from 24 different public and private universities of the country. The event was also attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Erasmus+.

Impact

- 20 UK HEIs took part in the event
- 22 Azerbaijani HEIs took part in the event
- Formal opening by the Ambassador of United Kingdom in Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education
- 79% of participants indicated that the event was of high quality and met their expectations
- 75% of participants indicated that they acquired new and useful knowledge through the event
- 5 university-to-university partnerships are already under development as a direct result of this event
