Schools Mission - Delhi NCR in January 2013 and Gujarat in February 2013

About the mission:
In the last five years, India has seen the emergence of a number of schools offering an International school leaving qualification like the IB or the A-levels.

Keeping this market development in mind the British Council has organised and concluded two very successful schools missions in 2011 and 2012.

Objective of this mission:
Through this mission the British Council aims to provide an opportunity and platform to UK institutions to promote ‘Undergraduate courses in the UK’ across schools in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot.  During the mission UK Institutions will not only get a chance to interact with potential students who are interested in studying aboard but also network with faculty members scoping for future potential links.

City Profile:

Delhi NCR
National Capital Region (NCR) in India is a name for the metropolitan area which encompasses the entire National Capital Territory of Delhi which includes cities of Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Manesar.
Development in industry, commerce and trade has led Noida to be a model city in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It’s a major hub for multinational firms outsourcing IT services, for auto ancillary units, many large software and business process outsourcing companies. Many other companies have their Indian branch offices in Noida, because of many factors, including its Special Economic Zone status, its suburban atmosphere and its proximity to Delhi. It has various prominent higher education institutions and many prestigious schools.
Gurgaon is the industrial and financial center of Haryana and is one of Delhi's four major satellite cities and is part of the National Capital Region. Gurgaon has the 3rd highest per capita income in India after Chandigarh and Mumbai. Gurgaon is home to one of India's many renowned higher education institutions and international schools

Gujarat
International schools have seen an emergence over the last couple of years in the state of Gujarat. It harbours a chain of the finest schools in India offering the IB and the IGCSE curriculum. International schools are focusing less on a wholly UK or US curriculum and instead delivering a more international curriculum; noticeable is the increased use of the IB and IGCSE. Therefore, there is a greater emphasis and focus on the strategies necessary for successful replication of existing schools, choosing viable locations for establishing newer partners, branding and general management.
