REMINDER: GCC Study in the UK marketing campaign

The British Council in the Gulf is launching a Study in the UK marketing campaign featuring 3 high profile social media influencers from Saudi and Kuwait and is looking for institutions in the UK to send in expressions of interest to be a part of a series of short films and host one key influencer.

Our social media influencers will be travelling mid – end of February, and it will be their first time in the UK. It is important that they are made to feel safe, welcome and that their journey is made as smooth as possible so that they in turn can generate positive sentiment on their social media channels for the UK education sector.

We will be sending two boys and one girl aged 15-16, each one has a following in the tens of thousands or in one case 2 million of fans on Youtube or Instagram. Specific details like names, number of fans and exact social media channels will be disclosed to successful UK institutions only.
We are looking for an institution that can provide the following:

- Offer top quality, comfortable accommodation for 3 nights as our social media influencer will be sharing photos or making short films of daily life in the UK reaching millions of fans
- Capacity to organise access to:

1. One lecture in the social media influencers are of preference which are gaming, media and fashion and tour of the faculties and resources (e.g. libraries, workshops and cafes)
2. Other friendly GCC students who can host/tour campus/entertain our social media influencer
3. Fun and culturally appropriate activities with the student union or a student club (e.g. sports event or art event)
4. Meeting and short interview with friendly professors in area of interest
5. Meeting friendly university welcome/support staff for international students.

- One member of staff available for two days in mid-February to support
- Campus with easy access (45 min. max) to international airport and big attractions (e.g. football pitches, theatres, museums, restaurants etc.) as trips are only 4 days.
- An active and diverse international student association
- A state of the art student union building/faculty building with good light (for filming)

Applications close on Wednesday 20 January and we will contact successful institutions on January 21st via e-mail or phone.
