Pre-departure briefings in India in July 2015: Inform your offer holders

British Council India is organising pre-departure briefings for Indian students who have received a confirmed offer from a UK institution and shall be leaving for the UK in August/ September 2015 to begin their course. These sessions will provide guidance and advice about important dos and don’ts while they prepare for student life in the UK. The briefing will also give students the opportunity to meet and network with fellow students who have enrolled to study at a UK institution.

The briefing will include an interactive session with recently returned UK alumni who will share their exciting experiences and the session on ‘Tier 4 student visa applications and related procedures’ will be delivered by officers from UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) at each session in each city listed below. The briefing will also include a session on student life in the UK which will include information about UK culture, food, transport in the UK, accommodation options. ensuring they are ready to for life in the UK.

Schedule of the pre-departure sessions:
July 11: Mumbai
July 20: Pune
July 21: Delhi
July 21: Hyderabad
July 22: Chennai
July 24: Bangalore
July 27: Ahmedabad
July 28: Chandigarh
July 28: Kolkata

These sessions will be held at British Council offices. Seats are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Each attendee will be charged a nominal fee.

This opportunity will give them a chance to talk to UK alumni, share their experiences, gather information about visas and immigration and network with students like them as well as meet some students going to the same institution as them.
