UK higher education insitituions are invited to explore partnership opportunities with Gulf College, based in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman.

The college is seeking a partnership for quality assurance purposes and as part of its strategic vision to internationalise in accordance with national objectives.

About Gulf college

Established since 1990, Gulf College Fully accredited by the national body, OAAAQA. It also has an ongoing and productive partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University.

It offers a range of subjects:

Main requirements

  1. Programme accreditation: Gulf College seeks assistance in reviewing and strengthening its programmes to ensure they meet both the Oman Qualification Framework (OQF), the national Programme Standards Assessment (PSA) and the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
  2. External examining: input in the form of external examination is sought for Gulf College’s assessments to ensure fairness, consistency, and alignment with international standards.
  3. Curriculum development support: input is further sought for curriculum design of the identified programmes to ensure currency and alignment with international best practices.

Additional requirements

  1. Staff Development and training: professional development programmes offered to Gulf College’s academic staff to enhance their teaching, assessment, and research capabilities.
  2. Quality assurance frameworks: input in the enhancement of quality assurance mechanisms.
  3. Student engagement: guidance in enhancing student involvement in the quality assurance process, ensuring that their feedback is actively incorporated into decision-making and programme development.
  4. Annual monitoring and reporting: participation in annual review of Gulf College’s programmes, providing insights and recommendations based on data from student performance, outcomes, and feedback.
  5. Benchmarking and international collaboration: benchmarking of Gulf College programmes against international standards, ensuring Gulf College’s offerings are competitive globally and aligned with best practices in higher education.
