The state of Gujarat has been organising 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit' since 2003 to foster development in Industrial and Social Sector through promotion of investments and collaborations in Gujarat. During the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit 2011, 'Education Sector' was recognised to be one of the development sectors which further resulted in - two International Conference of Academic Institutions (ICAI) in 2011 and 2013 followed by National Education Summit organised in 2014.

With a view of enhancing Quality, promoting Innovation and strengthening Governance, Education Department - Government of Gujarat has initiated an 'International Conclave on Higher Education' scheduled on October 18, 2016 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat and the theme of the Conclave is “Transforming Higher Education: Quality, Governance and Innovation”.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat – Shri Vijaybhai Rupani and Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Development, Govt. of India – Shri Prakash Javadekar will be inaugurating the conclave.

The aim of the conclave is to elevate Higher Education in India and the conclave will include key note addresses, panel discussions, consultation Meetings, group discussions etc. in Plenary Sessions and Parallel Sessions. Approximately one thousand participants from various International and Indian Institutions are expected to participate in the conclave. The conclave program is as below:

Session 1: Plenary Session on Way forward for Higher Education in India-Quality, Governance and Innovations

Session 2: Parallel Sessions- I
o Vice Chancellor Session on Integrating Skill Development in Higher Education
o Governance Reforms: Reality, Expectations and Way Forward
o Creating a conducive environment for Startups: Innovation to Reality

Session 3:Parallel Sessions - II
o Action Agenda- Transforming State Public Universities
o Best Practices in Governance: learning from World-Class Universities
o Building Institutions of Higher Education for Innovation

We invite UK institutions to participate in this conclave, through this conclave the participating UK institutions will get a flavour of the changing Indian education scenario and will be able to interact with some eminent faces of the Indian education sector . These sessions will be delivered and hosted by some well known names from prime Indian institutions. We present an opportunity to UK institutions to be a speaker at one of these sessions and represent the rich history and global reputation of UK education.
