Opportunity for STEM researchers and science communicators - lecture tour to India from mid-January to February 2018

The GREAT Britain campaign is the UK Government’s most ambitious international marketing campaign ever and showcases the very best of what Britain has to offer in order to encourage the world to visit, study and do business with the UK.

We are inviting some of the best of British Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Researchers and Science Communicators to India mid-January 2018 – February 2018. This lecture tour is called GREAT Talks and the objective of this initiative is to showcase the UK’s education and research in the area of STEM and to encourage Indian students to explore study and research options in the UK.

These visits generally last for about 5 working days during which the visiting scientists visit Indian higher education institutions to deliver talks to undergraduate/postgraduate students or young researchers and interact with fellow scientists. The programme is generally delivered across 2 or 3 Indian cities. Where possible, we also arrange media interviews to publicise speaker’s work. The British Council agrees to cover speaker’s visit costs which include international economy flights, Indian visa fee, local hospitality and travel which we will arrange.
