Nirma University, established on April 17, 2003, as an initiative of Nirma Education and Research Foundation, has completed more than a glorious decade of academic excellence and societal contribution. In the last one decade, the University has emerged as a centre of academic excellence in the country.

Nirma University is the first private sector university in the state of Gujarat, under a special act of the Gujarat State Legislative Assembly. The University is duly recognised by the University Grants Commission under 2(f) of the UGC Act.  The University consists of the faculties of technology, management, pharmacy, law, science, architecture and planning, commerce and doctoral studies.  It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council with “A” grade.  In the last National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), the Institute of Pharmacy was ranked sixth in the country.  In addition to Institute of Pharmacy, the Institutes of Engineering and Management also have ranked in the first fifty in the country.

The University's Institute of Technology has eight departments namely, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, Instrumentation & Control and Mechanical.  The departments of Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering are quite active in research.  The Institute of Management and Institute of Law are also leading schools in India.

Nirma University is seeking collaborations in the field of Engineering, Management, and Law for joint research, teaching exchange, faculty exchange and students exchange.

The University is also inviting teachers from UK institutions for a period of 3-4 weeks for teaching and will sponsor air travel , local hospitality and pay honorarium as per Indian standards.
