UK academics, researchers and policymakers are invited to submit an expression of interest to be a panel member at the Internationalisation of Higher Education seminar, taking place in Delhi from 22 to 23 February 2024.

This international seminar is organised by the British Council in India and the Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education (CPRHE) of the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi. 

It will bring together researchers, policymakers and policy planners from across the globe to discuss and deliberate the concerns and issues of internationalisation of higher education, in the evolving global landscape.

The seminar also aims to develop a robust network of academicians, researchers, institutional leaders and policy planners working towards improving national and international higher education systems to align with the global knowledge economy.

The seminar is the eighth in a series of collaborations between the British Council and the CPRHE/NIEPA. More than 150 delegates representing educationalists, researchers, experts, policymakers, policy analysts and managers of higher education institutions from India and abroad are expected to participate.

Objectives

This international seminar aims to:

 - further the understanding of the issues, concerns, policies, and practices of internationalisation of higher education

 - extend a forum for academicians, researchers, policymakers and practitioners to debate, share and learn from their experiences of the internationalisation of higher education

 - discuss the policies on the internationalisation of higher education and the intervention strategies to promote exchange programmes, collaborations, partnerships and facilitating branch campuses

Thematic areas

 - Globalisation versus internationalisation of higher education concerning digital and distance learning modes, student mobility, faculty exchange and commercial establishments

 - Curriculum reforms, credit transfer and global convention on qualifications for internationalisation at home and abroad

 - Assessment of quality, accreditation and regulations for internationalisation of higher education

 - Labour market and factors affecting the global flow of tertiary-level students

 - Financing, affordability and equity concerns in the internationalisation of higher education

 - Collaborations/partnerships for internationalisation in higher education and developing the systemic and institutional capacity of Indian higher education institutions

To be part of the esteemed panel, you are invited to submit an expression of interest by 30 August 2023.

All selected panellists will be requested to contribute a paper on the thematic areas they choose to participate in.
