Funded opportunity to develop an academic readiness MOOC for international students coming to UK.

The British Council would like to commission a UK higher education institution or organisation to develop a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the topic of academic readiness for international students embarking on degree-level study in the UK. This short preparation course should focus on helping international students prior to overseas study by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to succeed in UK higher education. The academic readiness course will be hosted on FutureLearn. The course will address challenges faced by international students entering the UK’s higher education system, including the differing styles of teaching, the study skills needed, expectations for independent study, and coping with the demands of academic reading and writing in English in order to prepare the students, the course should also include a short module on ‘living’ in the UK.
