Engineering and IT mission in East India

SIEM, India is offering an Engineering and IT mission targeting higher education institutions in East India.

The objective of the mission is to provide a platform to UK Institutions to establish stronger links via faculty discussion, collaborations on topics of mutual interest and recruitment. The participating UK institutions will meet with faculty at the Indian institution, take part in round table discussions, and deliver presentations on specific topics to prospective students.

Why Engineering and IT in East India?
Engineering, IT and Technology are the most popular subjects in East India and Kolkata is home to a number of leading engineering institutions.
The premier engineering institutions provide four to five year B.Tech/B.E. degree courses. Due to the rising popularity of these courses, an increasing number of private institutions are entering the market thereby giving rise to newer centres of engineering and technical excellence in the city.

Engineering is the top subject choice in both undergraduate and postgraduate level as per the visitor profile statistics of the last exhibition in Kolkata, recently concluded in November 2013.

The prominent engineering and Technology institutions in Kolkata include Jadavpur University, BESU, Heritage Institute of Technology, BP Poddar Institute of Management and Technology.

IIT Kharagpur is the one of the most prominent engineering institutes in India and is based in the industrial city of Kharagpur which is three hours from Kolkata
