British Council Nigeria is pleased to invite leaders in Higher Education from Nigeria, SSA and the UK to the Nigeria Higher Education Dialogue. The Nigeria Higher Education Dialogue is the second in the British Council’s HE Workshop series. This event will examine the theme: Transnational Education, Access and Quality in Nigeria’s Higher Education. It will be delivered in collaboration with the Universities UK International and the Nigerian National Universities Commission.

It is designed to provide a robust dialogue on the ways transnational education can support improvements in access and quality in Nigeria’s higher education sector as well as providing a platform for institutions to further develop partnerships that can support institution reform and governance.

• Should higher education design be employer led?
• Quality assurance in Higher Education and impact on nation building
• Transnational education as a tool for improving access in HE
• The NUC’s cross border higher education guidelines, a tool for internationalizing Nigeria’s Higher Education

A new strategy document for the Nigeria education sector was recently launched. Some of the priorities for higher education include use of international partnerships to improve access, diversification of funding streams for higher education and improvement of governance of the higher education sector in Nigeria.
