Call for expression of interest to collaborate at Study UK pavilions on Indian college campuses

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

British Council India will be participating in high footfall campus events across 16 higher education institutions (HEIs) in India as their international partner for cultural relations and educational opportunities. These annual high foot fall events such as tech fests, campus festivals, and cultural events attract students from other Indian educational institutions, mostly at the undergraduate level. These events become platforms to share knowledge and compete in events across a broad spectrum of activities. Last year, through our participation in these high footfall events, we engaged with over 250,000 students and visitors to promote Study UK.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

British Council would like to support the internationalisation objective of UK institutions and showcase their academic programmes, research, and products.

We are now inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from UK institutions to participate at and contribute to the GREAT Campus/Study UK Pavilion, scheduled between September 2018 and March 2019.

  • Deliver talks in the areas of STEM, art and culture.
  • Deliver a masterclass on pre-agreed topics
  • Showcase science exhibits and demos
  • Organise a quiz on a specific subject area - quiz on UK history and culture or other competitions with prizes

WHY COLLABORATE WITH THE BRITISH COUNCIL AT STUDY UK PAVILIONS

  • An opportunity for UK institutions to showcase their brand, programs and study opportunities.
  • Meet and interact with a focussed audience - undergraduates, post graduates and researchers
  • Meet students from various disciplines - engineering and technology, natural and physical sciences.

ABOUT THE GREAT CAMPAIGN

The GREAT Britain campaign is the UK Government’s most ambitious international marketing campaign ever and showcases the very best of what Britain has to offer in order to encourage the world to visit, study and do business with the UK.

As a part of GREAT and the Study UK - Discover You campaign, we promote and support global engagement to showcase the best of what the UK education has to offer. Through our campus outreach, and other promotional events in India, we raise visibility for the UK as a study destination.

COST OF PARTICIPATION:

  • There will be no participation fee for UK institutions to engage in the campus events
  • All payments towards freight, international/domestic air travel, accommodation and related expenses will have to be borne by the participating UK institution.

OTHER DETAILS

  • As part of the GREAT campaign, this event is aimed at an overall promotion of Study UK and not specific UK institutions
  • This event is open only to UK institutions, and the selection will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Upon receiving  EOIs, the British Council will communicate  participation ideas with the UK institution by 31 August 2018
  • The British Council reserves the right to match the UK HEI’s offer in the EOI with the list of identified Indian campus events and programmes.
  • On receipt of confirmation from the Indian HEIs, British Council will communicate the exact programme details to UK institutions six weeks before the start date of the programme.
  • Agents will not be allowed to participate on behalf of the institution. UK institutions, however, can involve alumni to represent their institution.
