Call for EOI - Career Talk at the University of Calabar

British Council Nigeria in partnership with the University of Calabar is organising a Career talk in September 2016. The event provides UK institutions with the opportunity to deliver career counselling and coaching sessions to students of the University who will be looking to start a career in ICT, Agriculture, Oil & Gas and Tourism industries and also for students interested in entrepreneurship.
These interactive sessions will be an opportunity for institutions to gain market insight on the region and raise the institution’s profile in Nigeria. Following this event is the first Education UK exhibition to be held within the oil-rich Niger Delta region planned for 22nd September 2016.

Date: Wednesday, 21st September 2016
Venue: Conference Centre, University of Calabar
Time: 12.00noon - 4.00pm

The workshop will be attended by up to 500 students and student influencers from the University of Calabar. The event provides a career development platform for the students, giving them an opportunity to start planning and learning new skills that will improve their employability profile.
This one day event will cover interactive and innovative sessions on starting a career in the ICT, Agriculture, Oil & Gas and Tourism industries as well as one on one opportunity to give counsel and career guidance to the students on enterprise and startups.

Participation includes a 45-minutes speaker session – Four session slots available
The audience will comprise of up to 500 students and student influencers from the University. The theme of your session should ideally focus on one of these sectors - Oil and Gas, ICT, Agriculture or Tourism and Entrepreneurship.
There are only four session slots available, these will be made available to institutions offering courses related to the specified sectors on a first come first served basis. Please note that the sessions are not to be tailored as a marketing pitch for your institution.
The session will be held in an auditorium provided by the University and participating institutions will get to place their banners on the stage during the session.
Secure transport will be provided from Transcorp Hotel Calabar to the University of Calabar and light refreshments will be served.

Cost of Participation
Participating institutions will be required to pay a nominal fee of GBP150
