“Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan briefing – Education Marketing in the digital environment” Webinar, 28 July, 2016 10:00 BST

The internet has dramatically changed how we look for information and how we form opinions and perceptions of the world around us. This is particularly true for younger people who form some of the key target audiences for providers of international education. As a result, although face-to-face events remain popular for marketing international education opportunities, results tend to be better when they are integrated with effective digital marketing.

Internet penetration is around 60% in both Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Most of the population access the web from mobile devices. This is especially true for the main target groups for UK education. Bill Gates first remarked that ‘content is king’ back in 1996; 20 years later, this has never been more true. Today, content for your brand is developed and shared not just by you or your alumni, but also by bloggers, social media users, and other online influencers.

With a strong presence on the ground in both Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the British Council is able to monitor relevant trends in the local markets and build strong relationships with our audiences. To date we have delivered our services to over 100 UK education brands in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. In recent years alongside traditional face to face events we have seen a sharp increase in demand for digital services.

Investing in an effective digital plan in these particular markets allows institutions to improve their market positioning and increase their brand awareness, and attract students. We are always happy to share our intelligence on digital marketing with UK education institutions to help them to run more effective and successful campaigns.

The aim of this webinar is to provide information to UK institutions about the digital environment in both countries, discuss the latest trends, and help them plan their investment effectively. It’s specifically aimed at international officers from universities that plan to start new recruitment activities in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan for the 2017-2018 academic year. However, the event is also a good opportunity for schools, colleges and ELT providers to investigate the market.

The webinar will be held on 28 July 2016. You can reserve your place now at:
