Health screening required at Indonesia airports for international travellers

Responding to the World Health Organization’s (WHO's) declaration that the mpox outbreak is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), Indonesia has reinstated health screening at all its airports for all international travellers, a measure that was previously implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Visitors to Indonesia are expected to provide information related to their recent health status and international travel history by filling in the form which is available at https://sshp.kemkes.go.id. Once completed, travellers will receive a barcode which needs to be shown to airport officials at the arrival gate. Visitors are advised to keep this barcode with them throughout their time in Indonesia.

What does it mean for visitors from the UK?

  • Please read through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's (FCDO’s) foreign travel advice before planning a trip to Indonesia.
  • We expect this new health screening to be only a temporary measure as Indonesia is currently hosting the Indonesia Africa Forum.
