University of Hong Kong raises admissions requirements

The University of Hong Kong has told HKDSE (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education) graduates that they will need a minimum of 20 points to gain entry into the university’s degree programmes. The HKDSE examination results are released on Friday 21 July. 72,000 secondary school students will graduate from the HKDSE, however there are only around 15,000 places available at tertiary universities. Demand for overseas education is expected to be especially high this year. Reports Alvina Hung and Johnny Lo for The Standard
