'UKVI is currently in the process of consolidating all Points Based System (PBS) and Settlement cases to its UK decision-making hub in Sheffield. This consolidation work is taking place in phases and we expect it to be completed by the end of 2017. Visit visas will continue to be processed at hubs overseas.
Decision-making on Indian PBS and Settlement applications was moved to Sheffield in December 2016 with no impact on customer service.
Consolidating casework in to a smaller number of hubs has helped to ensure that visa applications are processed consistently, and to a high standard, across the network, whilst delivering operational efficiencies. By retaining a presence overseas UKVI will also retain the local knowledge that can help to inform decision-making
