The tyranny of Predicted Grades

Research by Nick Everett and Joanna Papageorgiou in the UK has suggested that most predicted grades turn out to be accurate, however can also be influenced by factors such as gender and socio-economic group.

This has potential implications for universities regarding attainment rates. This is also particularly relevant for the Hong Kong market, as mentioned by the columnist predicted grades are the only indicator for students taking the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE).
