Taiwan announces new ‘0+7’ COVID-19 policy for international visitors

Taiwan recently announced a  ‘0+7’ COVID-19 policy which has come into force from 13 October.  International visitors (including international students) are no longer required to undergo mandatory quarantine on arrival. Instead, they will need to observe seven days of ‘self-initiated epidemic prevention’.

Foreign international students may attend classes physically during the seven-day self-initiated epidemic prevention period as long as they provide their schools with a negative rapid test taken in the last two days. Visitors who enter Taiwan showing COVID-19 related symptoms will be placed in a quarantine immediately.

British Council Comments:
As countries in the region are gradually lifting their entry requirements of foreign nationals, Taiwan’s new ‘0+7’ COVID-19 policy announcement is a positive indication that it is now ready to welcome all foreign visitors.  We look forward to welcoming more UK institutions to Taiwan in due course.  Meanwhile, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any support to link up with local Taiwanese partners
