Swansea University expresses interest in Lahore Knowledge Park

Lahore Knowledge Park (LKP) is an initiative by the Punjab government to equip the youth with modern campuses of world-renowned universities at a prime location in Lahore.

As per the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, it is the driving force to make the Punjab in particular and Pakistan in general, into South Asia’s future nodal point for a Global Knowledge Economy.

The objective of the Lahore Knowledge Park is to develop and create linkages and synergy between academia and the corporate world in areas that feed into the global knowledge industry. This will be achieved through creating clusters of related academic and industry sectors especially in ICT, Business and Management Sciences and in Science and Technology.

The park includes universities, science and innovation hubs, a retail and central business district, a residential district, an entertainment zone and green areas.

A delegation of Swansea University (SU) showed interest in setting up it’s sub-campus at the Lahore Knowledge Park.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has invited international universities to open their campuses in Lahore through this project.
