Sri Lanka builds first ever Green University Town in South Asia

Moving towards the vision of becoming an international hub of excellence for higher education by 2020,  the National School of Business Management (NSBM) in Sri Lanka opened its doors to South Asia’s first ever Green University Town recently.

The Green University Town has been built taking into close consideration the current natural environment prevalent whilst also being techno and environment friendly for which the university has already been offered the ‘Green certificate’ by the Ceylon Institute of Builders.

The modern campus with a capacity to accommodate 30,000 undergraduate students, comprises of ultra-modern lecture halls, state-of-the-art library, recreation and sports complexes, student centers, student and staff accommodation, an auditorium and an open air theatre.

One of the main objectives in constructing the NSBM Green University Town is to provide both academics and students a physically and physiologically comfortable teaching and learning environment.
