As a result of the recent diplomatic ‘’issues’’ between Saudi Arabia and Canada. The Ministry of Education has decided yesterday to suspend all government-funded scholarships to Canada and will transfer the existing 7000 (12000 with their families) students who are currently studying in Canada to other countries (the US and the UK have been mentioned as the preferred destinations by the Deputy Minister of Scholarships, Dr Jasir AlHerbish).
The Ministry of Education is currently putting together plans for the transfer. The Saudi Cultural Bureau in Canada will create files for the students that would include information to enable them to transfer.
The Saudi Cultural Bureau in the UK will secure the admission for the subject students based on their existing levels. We are in communicating with both the Ministry of Education and the Saudi Cultural Bureau in the UK offering help where possible. So you may soon start to receive requests from the SACB for this.
