Salary expectations of Chinese students with British education background excessively high

The British Chinese Weekly recently conducted a survey among Chinese students studying in local institutions. As for the question of "how much salary do you require after you return to China?," 35.4 per cent of respondents selected an "annual salary of RMB 50,000-RMB 80,000." That means their monthly salary must exceed RMB 4,000, but this is not in line with reality. The starting monthly salaries for overseas returnees are around RMB3,000. A total of 27.7 per cent of respondents selected an "annual salary of RMB 80,000-RMB 120,000." A total of 10.8 per cent of respondents expected an annual salary of more than RMB 120,000. Only 21.5per cent of respondents selected an annual salary of RMB 30,000-RMB 50,000. The survey reflects that the salary expectations of Chinese students with a British education background are obviously high, reports China News
