Rise in Hong Kong applications to Cambridge despite toughened English language requirements

New toughened language requirements for foreign students and immigrants entering the UK is a cause for concern for University of Cambridge vice-chancellor, Leszek Borysiewicz.  Borysiewicz, one of the UK’s most senior education officials, is worried that the new rules could be deterring bright foreign students. Hong Kongers, though, continue to be interested in studying at the University of Cambridge with 90 receiving offers this year out of 489 applications, (increased from last year’s 65 offers and 367 applications), writes Jennifer Cheng for South China Morning Post
