QAA issues report on Hong Kong TNE

The QAA have published a report on Hong Kong TNE, which is the result of a review of provision in the territory conducted jointly with local accreditation body Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ).

The review included 14 UK TNE arrangements, including branch campus delivery, joint/double degrees, and partnership with local organisations. The review found that UK TNE provision in Hong Kong is both relevant to the local market and employment needs, and meets the expectations of the UK Quality Code. In addition, by conducting the review with HKCAAVQ the two bodies have enhanced inter-agency cooperation, meaning that in the future QAA can recognise HKCAAVQ accreditation decisions, which will reduce the regulatory burden for providers.

The report provides valuable information on the higher education landscape in Hong Kong including the regulatory framework for TNE, and is available on the QAA website - http://www.qaa.ac.uk/international/transnational-education-review/review...

In October the QAA, HKCAAVQ and British Council will jointly host an event to disseminate findings of the report to local TNE providers.
