The Philippines remains assured in improving its position as the biggest market for information-technology business process management (IT-BPM) across the world.

According to IT and Business Process Association Philippines (IBPAP) chairman Danilo Sebastian Reyes, the Philippines’ spot at the top two or three in the IT-BPM servicing market globally explains why the country has been the destination of choice for IT-BPM service.

In 2016 alone, industry players are targeting 1.19 million direct employments, proving that the sector’s growth rate is faster than that of the national economy.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) described this progress in IT-BPM as particularly favourable, “not just for its ability to create and provide jobs, but more so for enabling government, other businesses, and institutions to achieve higher productivity and competitiveness on a sustained basis.”

ITBPAP is confident that the government-industry-academe partnerships, particularly the continued government support and increasing quality talents produced by universities, will enable the sector to sustain its performance.

Reyes adds that the country can eventually compete with India as the IT-BPM servicing leader in the world as the Philippines also has the momentum, the credibility in the global market, and the people to deliver quality service.
