Peking University has announced that it will launch free internet-based courses. The university has started cooperation with the famous platform of MOOCs, known as massive, open, online courses for short, to provide free online education since May this year. People around the world could sign up for four online classes from Peking University in mid-October at the initial stage. Besides, the blurbs of two online courses from Tsinghua University have also been presented on the website. Peking University will promote MOOCs among middle school students in 2013. Middle school students, who have finished some online programs of Peking University, will enjoy benefits in autonomous enrollment of Peking University. Reports China News
