Pakistani University to establish international campuses in UAE and Saudi Arabia

National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), is a public research university with its main campus in Islamabad and supplementary campuses in different cities of Pakistan. NUST, considered to be a modern university with a progressive and innovative outlook is expected to surface as a centre of excellence for research and development in the fields of science and technology.

The Rector of NUST, Lt Gen. (Rtd) Naveed Zamad has said NUST will open its international campuses in UAE and Saudi Arabia. The purpose of this endeavour is to strengthen institutional international linkages and put NUST on the international education map.

NUST is the only Pakistani Institution ranked in the global top 50 universities. It currently has around 16,000 local and international students enrolled in its courses.

British Council Pakistan strives to support universities, institutions and other education decision makers in their advancement and partnership development strategies to consequently strengthen collaboration within local universities and UK institutions.

On 15 February 2018, British Council Study UK Counsellors’ Symposium 2018 was held at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad.

The 2018 Counsellors’ Symposium was held in partnership with:

  1. National University of Sciences and Technology
  2. University of Kent
  3. Birmingham City University
  4. Queen Marry University of London
  5. University of the West of Scotland
  6. University of Warwick

The event was attended by almost 200 student counsellors, career advisors, education professionals, education agents and consultants from across 21 cities of Pakistan.

The British Council Study UK annual Counsellors’ Symposium is a unique professional development platform for career counsellors; it is an opportunity for them to acquire new skills and techniques and network with colleagues from across Pakistan in order to share best practices and challenges associated with student counselling (click here to view event’s report)
