Pakistan’s first digital university – The Information Technology University (ITU)

An MOU has been signed between The Information Technology University (ITU) and edX, an online learning platform and massive open online course (MOOC) provider, leading to the formation of Pakistan’s first ever digital university.

Under this partnership, ITU will integrate its courses with edX’s new micro-masters’ programs leading to ITU’s multiple degree programs. The edX courses will be taught to the students, using online study material, under the direct supervision of ITU faculty in addition to lectures and tutorials for the integration of edX courses in classrooms.

Upon the successful completion of any course, ITU students will be given a certificate by edX and its partner university, which will be an internationally recognised degree provider.

ITU will soon launch its first course in electrical engineering in partnership with MIT, where the grades earned by the students will be counted towards their degree at ITU.
