The Malaysian Government would be awarding scholarships to Malaysian students who had performed exceptionally well in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations (equivalent to O Level in the UK) in 2011 to pursue their tertiary education, either locally in public and private higher education institutions in country or abroad. To ensure that more students would benefit from the scholarships, majority of the scholarships offered would be for studies within the country. Overseas scholarships would only be awarded to students who have secured places in top universities throughout the world.
