New York University Shanghai opens
On 11 August, New York University Shanghai, the first Sino-US joint university, opened to 295 students from 34 countries. There are 150 Chinese students from 10 provinces. They will have three weeks of orientation, which includes classes and activities to help them understand the university’s teaching model, regulations and cultural differences. Reports East Day
